I emigrated from France to the USA to live my "American dream".  After an absence of several years I went back to my country to visit and I started looking at things with a very different eye, an eye with lots of nostalgia for the interesting elements of the life and culture there. I could observe with the freshness and curiosity of a "tourist's eye. Things I had found mundane because  seen or rather "unseen" every day, offered a renewed fascination. Especially for events, people, circumstances of every day living, not in their grand significant moments, but in the small, discreet, fleeting encounters that make the street life so culturally "French" and alive. These as well as observing signs of disappearing things I used to see when I was a child, is what I tried to capture..., my memories of yesterdays!
